Ottawa Tulip Festival : Ottawa Tulip Festival, Dow's Lake Photos taken using the Orton technique: Two photos of the same subject are taken. The first serves as background- it is taken at f11, two stops overexposed and is in focus. The second photo is taken at f 5.8, is one stop overexposed and is out of focus. As these were shots taken in full sun around 10 AM, the first was underxposed by two stops and the second by one stop, to avoid losing highlights in the red channel.
